MARKINCH HIGHLAND GAMES
That time of year is coming up again – Highland Game season!
Markinch has hosted its very own games for many years in John Dixon Park and it is guaranteed to be a fun filled day for the whole family.
Find yourself jigging along with the highland dancers, or perhaps take part in a running race – no matter what age you are, there is something you will enjoy.
There are a number of food stalls for you to peruse, funfair rides for the kids and of course the nation’s favourite caber toss.
This year’s games are to be held on 4th June 2017 from 10am with tickets costing £3 for concession and £6 for adults (family tickets are available for £15).
Markinch is the first Fife town of the season to host their games, so get on down for some traditional Scottish summer fun!

MARKINCH SUMMER FAYRE

The Markinch Summer Fayre will be returning for its second year after a hugely successful debut last July.
The event will once again be free to enter and will contain stalls and entertainment of all varieties.
Last year saw food vendors selling artisan treats – from sweet pastries to juicy burgers to some fresh local fruits.
There was also entertainment from the Kingdom FM Roadshow team, the Tullis Russell Mills Band and Femme Fatale Street Dance Crew – there was also the opportunity to take a pony ride around the park.
The fayre was set up last year to raise funds for improvements of John Dixon Park and will be back this again year on 30th July 2017.
